fun in the snow

we had lots of fun adventures in the snow! we did a few snow hikes in the mountains and of course got the landcrusier stuck (see pic below). i think brian did it on purpose! he has been really wanting to try the winch out...and it worked like a charm!

birthday fishing trip!

brian got a new fishing rod and reel for his birthday, so we decided to float the siletz river and try it out. we had a great time, despite the icy roads and snow on the way over. the sun even came out once we got on the river!

today is brian and allie's birthday, they were both able to enjoy some crepes with berries this morning to celebrate!

Catch of the Day!

Brian caught this fish yesterday on the Alsea river. He thinks it was around 10-12 lbs, the funny part of the story is that they didn't even bring a net because they figured they wouldn't catch anything! Some how they managed to wear the fish out and if I have the story right, then Pat wadded out in the water and threw it up on the bank! We ate some for dinner last night and it was excellent!

snowshoeing at gold lake

We had a great time over the weekend shoe shoeing at Gold Lake. It is located just a few miles south of Willamette Pass on Hwy 58. The weather was gorgeous and there was even a super cute warming hut on the trail. Oh how I would love to move to Central Oregon...the weather is amazing. This time of the year I get really tired of the rain and fog in the valley.
