what a surprise...

when i showed up for workout class this morning these cute things were waiting for me on a pink table....so sweet! the basket is full of clothes, shoes, onesies, etc., everyone put a little treat of their choice in it. such a great idea!
my instructor made the diaper cake, it has all kinds of little goodies tucked away in it!
I had no idea that they were going to through me a shower, so it was a very sweet surprise. There is normally an abdominal class after our class, but abs were cancelled for the day so we could celebrate! We had chocolate covered strawberries and homemade vegie pizza is was a yummy treat after a great workout! I asked then how they planned all this with out me knowing, they said when I leave class they talk about me! I normally have to leave during the middle of class to go the bathroom, so that was there time to do some quick planning...I guess the bathroom breaks benefited them as well! I feel very flattered by there generosity...what a sweet group of women!

lovin' the sunshine!

i hope you all have been lovin' the sunshine as much as we have! we spent the weekend at the ranch enjoying the nice weather, helping with some chores and brian did a little turkey hunting. there was lots of signs of spring; bright green grass, budded trees, and cute baby calf's and chicks. there was even a calf born while we were there, but we missed the action...brian has been wanting to see a calf born forever, but seems to always miss it.
brian and i put up some temporary fencing along the driveway so the steers could eat down the grass...
allie loves visiting the ranch, she spent lots of time in the creek...

looking rough and ready and prego!!!

riding three deep in the mule...

we stopped in b'ville on our way home to fall a few trees at our house that had died. brian's superstar family was there to help, which was much appreciated especially since i'm not much help at 35 weeks pregnant.
we also made a quick stop in sherwood to squeeze on the kids a bit, they are sure getting big. Payton turns 1 in May...where did the time go???!!!
charlie being is usual silly self...

gwynn playing ball and being silly in the backyard

sweetpea and payton will almost be exactly a year apart!

sarah and payton...

payton loves allie!
catch up:
a few weekends ago lucy and colton came up and while lucy helped me organize the baby's room colton helped brian finish up some projects in the basement. they packed out concrete and dirt from the new sewer line and also poured new concrete. it was a busy weekend of projects, but their help was awesome! we are tying up some loose ends with the basement project this week and over the weekend and then the sheet rockers start on monday. it will be pushing it to get it done before miss sweetpea arrives. as long as the dusty sheet rock is done before she gets here, i think i can deal with the rest. i just can't wait for brian to be done with the massive remodel projects, i hate seeing him work so hard all the time. i think we will have to slow down once sweetpea comes, which will be a good thing...were looking forward to it!!!

35 weeks....

just a few silly prego pictures for you to enjoy that brian took at the ranch!

Today I had my last two week appointment with my doctor, now I will see her every week until sweetpea decides to come! I was totally shocked today when she told me that she would like to see me finish two more weeks, but if I went into labor before that she would not stop it! I thought I had five more weeks until she was going to come! I keep saying that I'm ready, but I guess I was a little unprepared for that. Maybe this will make me be a little more productive with my list of things to do before the baby comes.
I have been feeling pretty good, besides the typical prego stuff (uncomfortable to sleep, heartburn, shortness of breath, easily tired, nausea, etc.) I think I'm running out of room in my mid-section. I don't have that big of a torso to begin with, so fitting a baby in there is a tight squeeze. She continues to be head down with her back on my left side and arms and legs on my right side. I have been getting lots of kicks in the ribs the last few weeks. Sometimes she gets started moving and kicking around in there I wonder if she will ever stop...it wouldn't surprise me if she is a high energy little miss. I guess I better get back to my list of things to do before she surprises me with an early arrival!

prego my lego!

I'm officially on the tail end of 33 weeks! I had a girl at the gym ask me how many more days I had left...I think I'm still counting weeks at this point! :) Although I had a doctor's appt. this week and she reminded me that I have one more two week appt. and then I start coming every week...yikes! It seems like the end is coming up fast, not that I'm complaining, I just don't feel ready yet. Although it will be nice to be able to bend over, sleep without a million pillows between every crevice in my body, and maybe have some energy back. :) The baby's heartbeat was at 134 beats per minute and squirming around like crazy. The measurements seems to be matching exactly to the weeks, as I get closer to my due date the doctor can give me a better sense of how big she is. My doctor was excited to hear that I was finally starting to feel like I was slowing down, she said she has been waiting for me to tell her that I was getting tired and had to slow down. I guess I was a little too energetic! Other then feeling SUPER tired and then dealing with crazy allergies that have heightened with my pregnancy, I'm feeling good. I am staring to get a little nervous and anxious for labor, but I think that is expected and the outcome is totally worth it!
We finished up out last birthing class this week, so I guess we are experts now! We will put that to test in a few weeks. :) We also started a baby essentials class last night, which was good. Brian changed his first diaper and swaddled his first baby! Our instructors have been awesome! We are both glad that we decided to take the classes. Until next week you can read more about 33 weeks here:

sweetpea update at 32 weeks!!!

as we get closer and closer to the due date of miss sweetpea, we are starting to get ready for her arrival. although we still have lots to do. :) brian set the crib and dresser up a few weeks ago, we are really excited about them.
i think miss sweetpea will like this crib much better once we get a mattress and some linens! :)
we will put a changing pad on top of the dresser for the little miss...

we have a few more "preparing for birth" classes left. we both have learned a lot in class and are glad we decided to take it. "baby essentials" and "breastfeeding" are our next classes. so, i guess we will be highly educated for miss sweetpea! the belly continues to grow and i think she is zapping every bit of energy out of me. i have been feeling super tried the last few weeks, which on the plus side has made it easier for me to sleep at night. it continues to get harder and and harder to bend over, which is when i start thinking i can believe i have 8 more weeks of my growing belly left. other then the sporadic nausea, bellyaches, pelvic pain, and tiredness i feel pretty good. the change of energy level has been a little challenging for me as i have to remember that i can't do as much as use too...sometimes its hard to slow down. :)
we have been trying to put our nose to the grind stone on the name list, we do have a list of options, but nothing that jumps out at us. we are hoping to narrow it down to a few and then pick the name the fits her best after we meet her. so yes, you will all have to wait to find out the name...there has to be some sort of surprise! :)
as this point we are starting to get super curious as to who she will look like, what will her personality be, will she have lots of allergies like her mama, or will she have a double chin like her papa when he was a baby, will she have hair and if she does how much. this morning when brian was getting ready for work he peaked in the baby's room and said no baby yet...i think he is ready for her, although i don't know if he is ready for the sleepless nights. brian is going to a great dad, i can tell already!
we are both looking forward to our weekend in oregon celebrating miss sweetpea, we both are going to have the opportunity to spend time with lots of friends and family that we don't get to see as often as we would like to. looks like the sun is going to be out for the weekend, i don't think it gets much better then that....a sunny weekend with friends and family, i can't wait!
looking forward to seeing you all this weekend...travel safe!!!
