on the go!

the last few weekend we have been on the go and we are headed out of town this weekend as well. a few weekends ago we were in the valley, where we maneged to see lots of friends and family. we visited are our old hometown which we miss a ton and our friends jake and elizabeth who just had a super cute baby girl named Lauren. brian did some hunting while i visited lucy and enjoyed all the things i miss in corvallis. then is was out to dinner with friends and a smashing birthday party the next day for mckenzie who was turning 10!

we had a great time seeing friends and family last weekend, we are off to medford for a long weekend to visit with the douglas family. brian and tyler are going deer hunting, kat and i will we doing lots of chit chatting and spending time with her cute boys.

i want to hike, he wants to hunt!

we were able to satisfy both of our needs on a hike/hunt in the salmon huckleberry wilderness by mt.hood. we didn't see much wildlife, but it was incredible fall day with lots of sunshine and fresh air. we even found a few mushrooms to bring home. i just wish the weather would always be dry and sunny, i'm not ready for the long rainy winter that lies ahead. i guess we will try and enjoy the most out of fall and then wait for the sunshine!

weekday fun!

sarah happened to be in portland for a few days last week, so we decided to take miss penny to the zoo and out to lunch. it was a great sunny morning at the zoo and we even got to see the new baby elephant...which was super cute. after our day downtown, gwynn and i headed back to sherwood to check on tiff and payton...they had been baking all morning to get ready for her sister's birthday party. we still had some time to kill before dinner so we decided to take a trip to the library which turned into a walk outside to burn some energy! we then had a sleepover together in gwynn's room...she thought she wanted to sleep with me on the trundle bed, but changed her mind and crawled up into her bed and i didn't her a peep out of her all night. i think i might of wore her out!

fall weekend...

wow it has been awhile since i have blogged...i guess remodeling and being sick have taken up my spare time :)

amanda, jeff, mck, tyler & grandma tony came up on saturday to help with more electrical. we got lights in the bathroom and wired for our new furnace...which i'm loving! we finally have heat!!! thanks jeff for all your expertise electrical work! the ladies just hung out all day and visited, were good at that!

sunday we were in need of some outdoor time away from the "diamond in the rough". we loaded the dog, rubber boots, and rain coats in the car and headed to sauvie island. we visited three different pumpkin patches and ate lots of yummy fall treats! there are some beaches on the island that we went for a walk on and allie was lovin the water. later in the day gwynn and patton meet up with us for some pumpkin patch fun. all in all it was a super fun day enjoying the fall weather and lots of muddy pumpkin patches!!!
