sunshine road trip...

we arrived home from our 6 day road trip on monday night...we had sunshine everyday! i don't think it can get much better then that! we were home just long enough to get the laundry done and re-pack. we are off to oregon again today for the logging conference and then will spend time with family over the weekend. so you will have to hang tight on all the sunshine road trip pics...here's a cute one to tie you over.

this afternoon we are off to southern oregon to visit the ranch and catch up with friends along the way. looks like there is lots of sun in the forecast....i can't wait! it seems like this time of year i get anzy for spring sunshine. i hope you all get chance to enjoy some sun in the next few days!

evie also got the sweetest first valentine card from her great grandma...it even had money in it. brian thought we could maybe get her a new teething toy with it! :) aunt rachel sent evelyn a valentine card with a picture of a dog on it that has a kids sled on its head for a hat and everytime she looks at it she starts laughing...she is really into dogs lately!
on saturday we meet brian's sisters family at the great wolf lodge water park for a super fun day of playing. it is only an hour north of us, so it was a perfect reason to hang out with our niece makenzie and nephew tyler....we just don't get to see them enough!

we got home late satruday night and there was a package waiting at our front door...and these fun things were waiting for the little miss.

a new bib, plate and fun frog toy...thank you gwynn and payton, miss evie loves her new valentine treats!!!

our valentines day was pretty low key, we made a yummy breakfast and then i was off to soccer practice. evelyn picked out some really cute new jewelry for me for valentines...thanks sweet girl i love it! we barbecued some tuna for dinner and i made a coconut cream pie. it just seemed easier to be home celebrating love bird day, especially with a little one!

i hope you all got lots of sweet valentines and love notes...i know we did!

playdate...

are friends Jake and Elizabeth stayed the night with us this week. Jake had some work to do in the area so Elizabeth and her sweet daughter Lauren came along for the ride and had a play date with us. it was fun watching Lauren and Evie play together...

although it seemed that Lauren always wanted what miss Evelyn was playing with and miss Evie got a little upset when her toy was taken! :) you can tell she normally doesn't have to share with anyone but the dog and allie doesn't take much! :)

we ventured out to one of brian's secret spots on the tree farm over the weekend

there was moss everywhere...

then we came upon these really cool falls...

the water was super clear...

hmm....there was even moss hanging from the sky!

the falls were gorgeous and everything around them was covered in a very pretty layer of moss. i just wish it was summer so we could have taken a dip in the water! :)

miss evie came down with her first fever this weekend, which after a dr. visit we found out she had a mild ear infection...bummer. she has some meds, so she is on the road to recovery. i guess we should feel pretty fortunate that she is almost nine months old and it was the first time she has been sick with a fever. she was eating solids again by the end of the day today and was starting to act silly again, so that is a good sign!

silly goose...

this last week we have been busy being silly!

the first video is of evelyn eating and then towards the end she waves by lifting her arm up. she has waved at brian a few times in the morning when he leaves for work...too cute!

the second video is from the other night...i put her in her crib with a few toys as i was getting a couple things done before i put her to bed. i peaked in to check on her and she was attacking the pillow that my sisters and mom had made for her! i didn't catch the attack on video, but she is being really silly with it. :)

we have been loving all the great sunshine and have been outdoors a lot to enjoy it. another funny thing about our little miss is that she has become attached to random things. the other day it was the baby monitor, she held it the whole time i got her dressed and then she even took it in the stroller with her when we went for a run! she fell asleep on the run, and when she woke up she was still holding it! what a silly girl!
