this ones for mck...

...because she requested more videos because they are her favorite! Enjoy!!!

ps-miss evelyn wanted me to tell you that she has been missing her super COOL cousin "mckenzie" ....we hope to see you soon!

bulls for rent...

a few weeks ago while we were in corvallis we came upon this truck on the OSU campus...as you can imagine it was getting lots of laughs from students walking by. we couldn't believe that a large bull was for one in the back of a pick-up and for two that the tailgate was an old bran door tied on with rope! he must have been taking him to his recent place of hire! :)

fall snow in the mountains...

we decided to venture up to mt. rainier on saturday. we hadn't gotten a chance to explore that area yet and after a week of evelyn and i being cooped up with our first colds of the season we were ready to get out. it was a gorgeous day on the mountain...we packed for cold weather but were surprised that it was snowing when we got there. so evie got to see her first snow ever! we went on a hike and enjoyed meeting up with sarah and d.j.

mt rainier on a clear day...

geared up and ready to hike after miss evie had the worst blow out ever in the parking lot! luckily we had lots of extra clothes and wipes :)

sarah and dj....fall colors...

look at the snow!
the fog started rolling in the late afternoon as we were heading down the mountain from our hike..

evelyn was missing aunt sasa...

on sunday we got together with our neighbors (molly & chris, and the gardner family) for some apple pressing. the apple cider was soooo good!!!

crushing the apples for the press...
pouring the crushed apples in the press...
cute ava...she was such a good apple washer!
this is what the apples look like after you squeeze all the juice out of them and take the wood mold off...
i wish we had some pigs to feed the apple mold to, they would have loved it!
staying warm!
after we finished up the apple pressing we had dinner at the garder house....it was yummy! as we were all standing around visiting, brian was holding evie facing out and taking to chris about her sleep schedule, next thing you know she is nodding off...it was so cute. we had yet to see her do that, i mean it was 7:30pm, but i thought she would want to eat before bed, i guess she was to tired! i laid her down in bennet's crib and she went right to sleep. i left the door open so i could hear her if she woke up and she sleep through all of us talking, laughing and even ava showing off for us didn't wake her up. i guess we must have wore her out!!!

hope you all are enjoying the fall activities!

5 months and growing like a weed!!!

WOW...where does the time go, its hard to believe that our little sweetpea is already 5 months old. she is an absolute joy and we are enjoying all the new things she has been learning and trying!
a few of our favorite expressions of miss evie...

some of her favorite things and what she's been up to:
  • the sound of the letter "z", every time we make the "zzzzzzzzzz" sound she laughs and goes crazy especially if you push the stroller really fast and crazy
  • the hair dryer...i know it's super random, but she has loved the hair dryer since she was tiny. the minute it goes on she stops what she is doing and watches me very seriously until i turn it off.
  • her toes...whats not to love about sucking on your big toe, especially when were trying to change her diaper.
  • she has been sleeping through the night for about a month now, she normally likes to go to bed between 7 and 8 pm and then sleeps for around 10-12 hours. we are so lucky she likes to sleep like her mama and papa!
  • big girl...i'm sure those cute checks give it away, but the girl loves to eat! she is wearing 9 month clothes already. in fact last weekend when we were visiting grandma she gave evelyn all of her christmas clothes because she thought she might ou grow them before christmas. and i have to say she is cute as a button in them and they are fitting just fine!!!
standing tall...

she has been enjoying sitting up...with assistance of course :)

the bird mobile...oh how she loves the bird mobile

she has been putting anything and everything into her mouth, except of course the bottle and pacifier. we still have not got her to take a bottle and she only took a pacifier for a month. on the positive side i guess that is one less thing we have to worry about weaning her from, but sometimes it would be nice if she took a bottle every know and then so i could have just a little tiny bit of a break. as brian would say, she LOVES mama!

another thing in my mouth...

and yet another...

miss evelyn has been spending lots of time in the kitchen with me because we have been cooking up a storm lately. must be that fall weather. she loves to sit in her bumbo or our newest seat is her highchair! brian put it together for her a few weeks ago and she loves sitting in it and playing toys.

the highchair...

last weekend i had a ton of fun making baby food for her. i made apple, pear, butternut and acorn squash. i purred it up and put it in those tiny jam jars we used at our wedding and froze them. brian and i both tasted it and it was yummy! in fact he was wondering if he could have some in his lunch, sure why not! she still has about a month until we start on solids, but i have this funny feeling that she is going to be a good eater.

i am looking forward to dressing her up for her first halloween, brian thinks she is too young but since her outfit is super comfy he is ok with it. :) can you guess what she is going to be? i will give you a hint...we use to call her it.

fun pumpkin patch!

evelyn and I ventured down to portland on thursday to stay the night with grandma. we did a little shopping and then went to a super cool pumpkin patch on friday with tiffany and the kids. aunt lucy came up to join in on the fun as well.

out to dinner...
grandma had halloween treat bags for all the kids...evie enjoyed chewing on the card. gwynn and evie got matching halloween shirts with owls on them. (gwynn loves owls!)
sporting my new hat and shirt from grandma...

petting zoo at the pumpkin patch...
payton checking out mama kitty...
being silly...this was a little tricky with evelyn in the front pack! :)
super cute idea...
so we rode a boat across a small lake to the pumpkin patch and trained it back....super cool huh!

payton on the boat...there was things in the water that would jump out at you!
we rode the boat to this field of pumpkins...
aunt lucy looking spicy! lucy works at a farm in corvallis, so she is a pro at the pumpkin patch thing! she gives tractor rides, makes doughnuts...yummy, and weighs pumpkins. what a fun job this time of year!
miss gwynn...
tiffany and payton...
miss evie loved the pumpkin patch...i think she was in the front pack for almost three hours and didn't make a peep...even when it rained. ;)sweet boy...
gywnn wanted a tall pumpkin...looks like she found one!
nothing better then a wheelbarrow ride...
the train...i think lucy wishes she could drive the train instead of the tractor :)

the gang...

on the train...

cuteness!
playing in the rain...

i love cookies!!!
Thanks mom for planning such a fun day...we had tons of fun! It was so great to get all the kids together. Hopefully we can make it an annual trip!
