strawberries, sunshine, and swimming!

summer is officially here!  last week we picked lots and lots of strawberries.  we made yummy freezer jam and froze bags of strawberries for smoothies.  we still have three containers of strawberry jam left from last summer, so i think my estimate was pretty good.  we will see how we do this year. :) brian always calls me a squirrel this time of year when i start feeling the freezer full of summer goodness! :)
tyler and evelyn...this boy can pick berries!!!!
LOVE these next two pics!!!!

makenzie hurt her ankle the night before in her softball game, so she wasn't much of a picker. :)  but, she was an awesome babysitter!
there is rows and rows of orchards next to the strawberry fields which make for some nice shade!
check out these baby birds basking in the sun....
we found them in a bush at swimming lessons, they were gone the next day, so i hopefully they flew away.
miss e started swimming lessons a few weeks ago at a private swimming pool in harrisburg.  my sister -in-law hooked me up with this place and it is awesome.  we feel super spoiled to be able to drive the back country yards to a really pretty farm and swim.  thank you aunt amanda for the hook up!

this is miss e's first swimming lesson with out me in the pool and she is doing awesome.  in her two week period she learned to swim on her own and float on her back!  i'm totally impressed!  the instructor also makes them spider crawl with their arms the whole perimeter of the pool.  i couldn't believe those tiny little arms could do that! :)
noodle time....
floating on her back all by herself!

she came out of the water so happy when she swam on her own...such a proud moment!
don't you just love her in goggles?!
every night she is so pumped to tell brian what she did at swimming lessons.  i love when she tells stories, it just melts me listening to her describe how much fun she is having learning.
i hope you are enjoying the little bits of sunshine that we have been having, i think i'm ready for it to stick around for a few days! :)
