better late then never!

it seems i have been a little MIA lately on the blog!  i'm not sure where the time goes these days, but on a different note, i'm back!!!
i'm sure most of you know that brian got an elk on his mt. emily hunt...way back in september!  here is a pic for those who haven't seen....

evelyn was beyond excited about brian's success...here she is posing with the elk head and she is holding up her "d" (deer cozy).  she was so excited to show "d" the big "d" (elk), she said he had never seen one that big before!  too cute!!!!
evelyn has become really interested in hunting  these days, here are just a few of the funny things she has said lately:

-all summer when brian would practice shooting his bow she would sit in a chair right next to him and wait until it was time to RUN and get the arrow.

-when brian returned home from his hunt, she wanted him to take the plastic off the elks head to she could see it and then she wanted to know when the elk was going to wake up!

-as we were eating a roast from the elk one night, she said, "my dad hunted really hard for this meat!"

-she asks brian all the time when she can go hunting with him because some day she wants to shoot one. but, she wants him to clean it and get the meat, she just wants to shoot it! :)  sounds likes dad's guide service to me! :)

-she was concerned the other night that she didn't have a hunting shirt, she mentioned she has a bug shirt (for mosquitoes . and a crabbing shirt (hickory shirt), but no hunting shirt.  after she thought about it for a while she decided that maybe she could were her crabbing shirt for hunting!  that must be the girl in her....worried about what shirt she is going to wear! :)

-sometimes as night we read hunting magazines or hunting books for bedtime.  it fact she even prefers hunting movies over dumbo most of the time!

-while we were at the ranch for thanksgiving, brian was getting ready to go out hunting and evelyn looked at me and said, "i want to hurry up and finish my cereal so i can go hunting with dad!"

i think brian might have a new hunting partner in a few years...watch out tyler she might take your place!  just kidding!!!
