road trip!

a few weeks ago the mister and us girls headed east for a little getaway to one of our favorite places...the wallowa mountains.  our visits our a little different (no overnight backpacking or listening to outdoor music at the brew pubs) but we still always enjoy our visits to joseph and the wallowa mountains!  although the real reason for this trip was to scout for big horn sheep! (more on this in a later post!)
pit stop in hood river...we of course hit up our favorite coffee and bagel shop!

we made it to joesph!

we got lucky and rented this super sweet cabin...notice the buck right in front of the porch!  there was deer everywhere, in fact miss a even got to pet one! :)
the cabin was built just a few years ago...
the screened porch was awesome...helps keep the bugs out and the kids in! :)

 the loft upstairs...
we saw these big bucks down by the lake...

 tepee time!

the girls and i spent a ton of time at the lake playing in the water and hiking around.  one day we even got to watch a guy parachute down and land about 40 feet form us!

this little cutie has more personality then anyone i know!
aunt lucy and uncle colton joined in on the fun weekend!  lucy hung with the girls and i while colton went sheep scouting with brian.  it was so nice to spend time with these two and my girls love them.  the girls got so giddy when they showed up!
look at all those happy smiles! :)
ring pops, beach side, doesn't get much better then that!
just a few of my besties! :)
we of course had to hit up my favorite chocolate shop, Arrowhead Chocolate!  this place is a must stop!  i had the best salted caramel latte ever while i was there...just think house made caramel, whip cream, and salt on top!  so yummy!  another fun thing is when you order a mocha you get a spoon dipped in their homemade chocolate sauce while you wait!  i thought it would be fun to order the girls a chocolate spoon and for some reason their's came with a little dixie cup with extra chocolate...hmm, it that why they didn't sleep the whole 7 hours home! :)
love those chocolate lips!
 yummy!
just a little bull riding fun!
miss e got to ride her first horse...
and amelia checked her weight on the grain scale!

this is a little glimpse of what the boys were up to while we were having so much fun!  they were hiking this crazy terrain looking for big horn sheep!!!
(more details on that later)
all in all it was a great trip to one of our favorite places!  i can't wait until our little tykes are old enough to get out in the back county with us and see some of these awesome places in the wallowa mountains!  until then we will just sip salted caramel lattes lake side...that sounds pretty good right now! :)

ps-its been another crazy busy month of playing, so stay tuned for lots of updates soon!
