our annual salmon fishing week at bouy 10 in astoria came and went in mid august...it just seems like it took awhile to get the pics posted. it was no stellar year in the salmon fishing department, but we managed to bring a few home and enjoy the beach and astoria while we were there!
the girls and i took a lot of morning walks to the beach in our pajamas...
we ventured in to astoria to check out the big boats and a yummy coffee shop!
watched a few sunsets on the beach...
check this owl out that evelyn spotted on one of our morning walks...
evelyn gets all the credit for spotting this cute little guy, we were just walking along talking about what animals we should look for and she just causally mentioned that she saw an owl!
we watched the owl forever and then he finally flew to another tree...super awesome seeing it so close!
soaking up some morning sunshine on the beach with my littlest girl...
the sunshine on the oregon coast was amazing!
grandma tony and miss a...
grandpa paul and miss e...
this girl is my treasure collector, i can't tell you how many buckets she loaded up in the stroller to take back to camp! the problem was she loved collecting pieces of crab bodies, which eventually got a bit stinky! :)
the girls and i rode the historic astoria trolley...they loved it!
my crazy girl...
being silly in the tent...
even evelyn's "d" (deer) went camping with us! :)
the wind was so crazy on the beach that our kite would just spin circles! of course the girls thought it was hilarious!
i keep thinking allie's head should be in the picture above...looks like they were both looking at the same thing! :)
the trip home was eventful...a tire blew out on the boat trailer in the terwilliger curves in portland during rush hour traffic! luckily my husband is a "working man" and he managed to fix it! :)
on the way to the astoria the girls and i swung by aunt lucy's and canned a few peaches! it was lots of fun and the girls always love checking out all the animals on lucy and colton's mini farm! :)
another year of memories at fort stevens...hopefully next year we have a few more fish pics to share! :)
