last weekend sarah and dj came down to visit and we made a trek out to see the ape caves in the gifford pinchot national forest. the ape caves are hollow tubes underground that lava once flowed in thousands of years ago. it is completely dark in them so you have to were headlamps and use lanterns to see.
enjoying the sunshine outside of the ape caves...
the start of the first ape cave...i think it was 1.5 miles long
a great view of mt. st. helens covered in snow...
enjoying the sun in the lava fields...
our next stop was brian's secret water fall...I had been there once before, but it is worth another visit.
you cross the river on this tree. it has lots of small trees growing out of...pretty cool!
the falls and the sequence of sarah walking out on the log...
almost there...
yep...she made it!
know how do you get back???!!!!
yummy mossyness...
a few weekend ago paul and tony came up to squeeze on the misses a bit...they were missing the silly tiger. it was a gorgeous sunny day while they were here, so we ventured down to mcmenamins edgefield in portland for a yummy lunch in the sun.
walking with dad and grandpa...
i would have to agree with miss evie's shirt...her daddy does ROCK!
XOXOXOXO
