Holiday Fun!!!

what a fun week we have had preparing for christmas! monday we had a girls date with aunt sasa. we went to dinner and then bundled up so we could enjoy storybook land. if you have never been to storybook land you should go, its a super fun event in albany. evelyn was the perfect age for it, totally into all the lights and displays.

notice the santa lantern in evelyn's hand...aunt sasa brought it for her and she carried it the whole way through storybook land! :) she looked so cute carrying her santa lantern!

of course we had to get a picture by the "d's" (deer)!checking out the bambi display....then is was gingerbread house time with dad...the masterpiece!!

i thought it turned out pretty good, evelyn is so proud of it and tells everyone that its her house! :)i have been doing some sewing this fall and winter and one of my projects was stockings for the girls. i have a lot more detail work i want to do on them, but that will have to wait until next year. i'm in search of some fun vintage buttons to add to them and anything else cutie i come across. :)
remember this window frame i used to hang pictures on at evelyn's birthday party? well, i decided to put all of our holiday cards and santa pictures from the past years on it and i'm LOVING it! it is so fun to see the change in our little family over the years. i'm still waiting on this years holiday card, so hopefully i can add it soon. :)a few weeks ago santa came to b'ville, and this was as close as evelyn would get to him. i think amelia might have to get her picture solo this year, i don't think big sister is going to pull through. ;)
decorating cookies was way more fun then sitting on santa's lap....

we have been reading lots of christmas books the last few weeks and i think evelyn is really starting to understand christmas. at least she isn't asking to go to the pumpkin patch anymore! :) she is now interested in looking for christmas lights and wrapping presents. :) we start our holiday celebrating this weekend with my mom and siblings. we have a tradition of going to the zoo lights together and i can hardly wait to go this year. i think evelyn is going to love all the lights! i hope your all enjoying the holiday season and maybe your even doing something festive this weekend....enjoy!
