i'm back! wow, what a crazy last few weeks we have had! two days after throwing rachel and colton's tool shower we were off for a weeks vacation. we road tipped east with lots of fun stops along the way. our first destination was joseph, or in the wallowa moutains. it was there that we got engaged on a back packing trip 6 years ago. so it was fun to take the girls there and celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary.
in joseph ready for the rodeo with my little lady...
rodeo time! we went to this same rodeo the year we got engaged.
riding the tram up the wallow mountains to do some hiking. i just love this area!
feeding the chipmunks...
aren't the mountains gorgeous?!
heading down the mountain in the tram....
we spent the other half of the day swimming in wallowa lake...
trying to catch baby fish with dad...
the girls at our favorite breakfast spot in joseph...
my handsome groom and silly three year old. we ate at the brew pub to celebrate our anniversary. we went to this same brew pub after our engagement backpacking trip, i still remember what we ordered... onion rings and honey beer. after an intense hot backpacking trip that was just what we needed to re-fuel! :)
i'm so glad we went on that trip 6 years ago, when i said yes i knew it was the best decision i had every made. i LOVE my groom!!!!
then the girls and i rented a car and headed east, so brian could scout for horned animals like these. he tells me he is going on the hunt of a lifetime in septemeber. so he wanted to check out the area and see were the big bulls hang out. :)
out next stop was the boise zoo, check out the tongue on this giraffe!!!
evelyn thought feeding the giraffe was lots of fun!
there was a really pretty butterfly exhibit going on which was perfect because butterflies are currently miss e's favorite animal! :)
it was 100 degrees all three days we were in boise, so don't mind all the red checks we are sporting :)
but, who we really came to visit where these handsome boys....
and wait there is one more!
we stayed the weekend with my college bestie wendi and her three handsome boys. i realized after i got home that i didn't even get a pic of her. chasing after 5 kids will make you forget things like that! :)
wendi's boys are way into wrestling and is all kaynon (18 months) wanted to do was wrestle amelia! luckily she is use to a lot of rough play with evelyn, so she didn't seem to mind! )
swimming cuties...what else do you do when its 100 degress out?!
miss amelia loving the water...
is this not the cutest picture ever? they all wanted to push the stroller!
thank you wendi for an awesome weekend! we had so much fun playing at the water park, swimming and wrestling. :) i hope we can do it again soon!!
then we met back up with dad and headed west for home. the highlight of the trip for miss e was this....this is what she calls "the hog!"
we stopped at the bonneville fish hatchery on the way over for a potty break and the whole time we were on vacation she kept asking if we could go back and see "the hog." she of course wanted a picture of her and the hog so she could hang it in her bedroom! :)
just in case you are wondering it is a 80 year old sturgeon that we refer to as "the hog!"
what an awesome trip we had! i just love spending time with my little family!
thanks to my groom for the great anniversary trip! :)
