due date + 6 days = big baby...yikes!

can you believe that i'm still posting prego updates??!! i'm ready to post some sweet pics of our little miss, but she has other plans! :) i went to the doctor on wednesday and they hooked me up to the monitor where they measure movement and heart rate. the dr. said that everything looked perfect, in fact she even commented on the excessive amount of movement, which i did notice. the minute they put the band on my belly, she started moving like crazy. i was still 4 cm and 60% effaced (same as last week).

they did want to do an ultrasound just to double check the fluid level, size, etc. we had the ultrasound yesterday morning, which went great. our lil' miss has lots of hair and fuzz, and you could even see her eyelashes...i think she might look a lot like her big sister. :) evelyn had lots of dark hair, body fuzz, and dark eye brows and eyelashes when she was born. 15 minutes into our drive home, the doctor called, she was suprised by the size of the baby. the ultrasound was measuring her at 8lbs 14oz. i had been measuring small my whole pregnancy, so she wasn't expecting that big of a baby. of course the ultrasound weight is an estimate and it can be plus or minus one pound (hopefully minus!). with evelyn being only 7lbs 3oz, this little miss was sounding big. they can gain up to a half of pound a week at this point, so the doctor was concerned enough that she thought i should think about inducing. i'm not really on board with inducing, so i think we are going to wait out the weekend and re-evaluate on monday. luckly i have some really awesome girlfriends, one works as a labor and delverly nurses and two have experiences with induction. so it was super helpful to talk to them...thank you ladies!!!!

i'm thinking october 1st, don't you think 10.1.11 would be a great birthday?! i'm still having lots of indication that things are moving along, so i'm hoping patience will pay off. i just can't wait to finally meet her. i told brian the other night that i feel like i have been pregnant forever! i think these last few weeks have been the longest ever! i'm hoping the next post will be introducing our lil' miss to you all. otherwise i think evelyn might start to wonder if there really is a baby in my belly and if she really is going to be a big sister. last night we were sitting outside enjoying the fall weather and she came up to me and put both hands on my belly and said, "really big mom, really big!" i love the honesty of kids!
